Flathead and Channel Catfish Trips 

  • Weather & Clothing:

    • Evening temperatures can vary—check the forecast and dress accordingly.

    • Recommended: Long pants, long sleeves, rain gear, and a warm coat if needed.

  • Safety Gear:

    • All required safety equipment including PFD will be provided.

    • PFD (Life Jacket) must be worn by children 10 and under.  Feel free to bring your own PFD for yourself or child. â€‹

  • Night Fishing Considerations:

    • Some periods of darkness—headlamps provided (bring your own if preferred).

    • Bugs can be an issue—Thermacell provided; bring bug spray if desired.

  • Food & Drinks:

    • Bring your own snacks and beverages.

​

  • Fishing Gear & Bait:

    • All gear and bait provided—just bring yourself!

​

  • Catch & Release:

    • This is a catch, photograph, and release trip.

    • Some exceptions may be made if you'd like to keep a small fish for a meal.

​

  • Photography & Scenery:

    • Expect beautiful river scenery and wildlife—bring your camera!

Sturgeon Trips - Fall, Open Water

  • Evening Fishing & Weather:

    • Temperatures can vary significantly—check the forecast and dress accordingly.

    • Recommended attire: Long pants, long sleeves, rain gear, and a warm coat.

    • Fall trips: A heavy coat or bibs may be necessary as temperatures can drop.

  • Safety & Equipment:

    • All required safety gear including PFD is provided.

    • PFD (Life Jacket) must be worn by children 10 and under.  Feel free to bring your own PFD for yourself or child. 

​

  • Night Fishing Considerations:

    • Periods of darkness expected – Headlamps will be provided. Feel free to bring your own.

​

  • Food & Drinks:

    • Bring your own snacks and beverages.

​

  • Fishing Gear & Regulations:

    • All gear and bait are provided.

    • Catch, photograph, and release policy – All sturgeon must be released after being photographed.

​

  • Photography & Scenery:

    • Expect beautiful river views and wildlife—bring your camera!

​

  • Bug Protection:

    • Bugs are rarely an issue during sturgeon trips, but a Thermacell will be available if needed.

Sturgeon Trips - Winter, Ice Fishing

  • Catch Expectations:

    • Ice fishing for sturgeon is more like hunting than fishing—success requires patience and strategy.

    • The typical catch rate is 0-3 fish per trip, though some trips result in multiple catches.

    • The focus is on education and experience, teaching you how to target sturgeon on your own future trips.

​

  • Cold Weather & Shelter:

    • We fish during the evening hours, with temperatures often below 30°F.

    • A heated shelter will be provided, but proper ice fishing attire is recommended:

      • Insulated boots, bibs, gloves, and warm layers.

​

  • Equipment & Supplies:

    • All fishing gear, seats, and bait are provided.

    • Bring your own snacks and beverages.

​

  • Catch & Release Policy:

    • This is a catch, photograph, and release trip—all sturgeon must be released after being photographed.

​

  • Travel Across the Ice:

    • Depending on ice conditions, travel will be either on foot (no more than ½ mile) or by vehicle.
